Piston Broke Road Rally 27/28 August

It was a challenging night for all of GVMC members at the road event that started from the Cross Hands Hotel with Mad Marc Davies unfortunately going otl in the second half after getting stuck on a white after backing up to read a code board ho awkward was that, next time you will leave it where it is and pass it, Huw Electrical Jones and Rhys Smiley Lewis retiring with gearbox problems also with problems was Deian Davies who had a clutch problem witch caused him to retire on a lighter note Arfon Alarms Griffiths went on to finish 3rd over all and second in class but not with out a hitch with a bout of sickness during the night after a very hot start but then all was well for what was a surprising result with thanks to his driver Dan Richards.

Mewla 28 August

Well the mornig after saw yet another event with a good turnout for gwendeaeth valley motor club with Bob Fowden finishing 7th over all and first in class closley followed by Brynfedwen Garage run EVO of Brian Balls Davies and Alun Lighthouse Lewis coming home at 9th over all and second in class with vary little drama for both teams ,

Howell Davies and Alan Jones finished 23rd over all and first in class with yet again a good performance and vary little drama which is not what could be said for Arwel Jekins on the day a vary dramatic day which finished prematurely with shaft failure on stage three and that wraps up all we know for this month if we missed you out well dun to you and your team.

Each jacket carries a Welsh flag on one sleeve, the Gwendraeth Valley Motor Club’s “4G” logo on the other and a new ‘Leaping Escort’ insignia on the breast. Optionally you can have the club’s web address at the bottom of the back – leaving nobody in any doubt which club you’re from.

An exhaustive search for just the right jacket concluded with the selection of this hard wearing, durable and contemporary jacket. Made from coated nylon with a warm quilted lining this jacket will keep you dry and cosy without being bulky or heavy.

Pockets! You wanted pockets and this jacket has plenty of them – 2 Side pockets, 1 chest pocket with integral zip pocket, 1 phone pocket, 1 sleeve pocket and 1 inside pocket. There’s even a handy D-ring on the waist for clipping event passes, IDs or key chains to.

The navy and red colour scheme is departurefrom the club’s traditional green and grey but is sure to prove more practical. Bright enough to be seen but dark enough to not be a dirt magnet.

It’s taken a little time but at last, we’re back online with a shiny new website that we are sure you will find useful, informative and entertaining.

The site is split two ways, stuff you want to know and stuff that’s happening. The stuff you want to know won’t change much over time and you’ll find it in the same place, the dark grey menu along the top. Because lots of stuff happens we thought it would be good to share that here, so when new stuff happens you’ll find it in the bottom left panel on the front page. If it’s quite important we can make it stick around a bit longer in the top right “featured” panel or if it’s really important and we really want you to see it we’ll put it in the top left “headline” panel.

Navigating the site is very easy, you see it, you click it, you get it! Clever huh? Along the middle of the front page is a “category bar” that takes you to broadly grouped “stuff that happens” type posts / articles in an archive of sorts. On every page of the site you’ll find a rather messy looking box of words in the right hand column known as a “tag cloud”. The tag cloud is a great way to find the things you want quickly because they loosely link things together, want to know about Rali Cwm Gwendraeth 2009? It’ll have some very intuitive tags like “RCG09″, or “Rali Cwm Gwendraeth” that relate to it, even things like “Rally”, “Pembrey” and so on. You can even link to tags rather than an individual post / article, why? Because the post / article may be out of date and replaced by some new stuff that happens.

It’s a two way street now, the site has quite powerful features that let you have your say too. Many posts / articles will give you the opportunity to comment at the bottom. Your comments will be moderated and you own your words so keep it clean and inoffencive. We also have a great contact form system that will make it very easy for us to answer your questions. There is a general form on the “contact” page that can be found by clicking the link on the top bar. We will also have special contact forms attached to pages and posts / articles that will send the message straight to the person that can help you regarding that section or article.

So now that we have this clever website and very easy ways for you to contact us here at Gwendraeth Valley Motor Club we’d really like our members and everyone else to use it. We’d like to hear from you, especially our members about the stuff that’s happening with you, send us a message so that we can share it with all our readers. If you have some criticism or suggestions about the site then we’d love to hear them too.
